Art club project of school mascot- Kindergarten-Second Grade

This was such a fun project!  I did it with Kindergarten-2nd graders in an art club.  It took two sessions which equated to about 3.5 hours total.  I had the outline of the eagle on canvas, which they painted using certain colors.  After they were done painting the eagle they painted various large tag board papers using solid paint colors.  Some were painted blue with white paint mixed in.  Some were painted brown with white paint mixed in.  Some were painted white with a little bit go black mixed in.  After they were done painting, I sprinkled some glitter on the wet paint.  The students were also instructed to add texture using the opposite end of the paint brush when the paint was still wet to add lines.  In the next session, the paper was dry.  They then cut different shapes and sizes of the painted paper to glue on parts of the eagle in a mosaic fashion.  Presto!  Success!
