Henri Rousseau Inspired Jungle- Second Grade






Students in second grade were learning about Greek Mythology for their Core Knowledge Curriculum with their classroom teachers.  In art class we looked at Greek Pottery and talked about the myth of the Nemean lion.  The visual arts requirement for Core Knowledge Second Grade is to learn about the work of Henri Rousseau.  After looking and talking about Rousseau's jungle paintings, we made our own using a "Nemean Lion".
