Jasper Johns Number Mural- Preschool and Prekindergarten

The Preschool and Prekindergarten students looked at the work of Jasper Johns and identified numbers.  I also made it known that Obama has some of Jasper Johns artwork in the White House!  (The students like that)  Each student was then given a piece of construction paper and a cut out number that they had to identify.  They were instructed to first paint the background then paint the number using a different color paint.  This project is very successful and quick.  The only thing the students needed help with was placing the number on the background after it had been painted.

In the above mural, I used bright Tru-Ray construction paper and fluorescent/metallic paint.
In the below mural, I used the regular Tru-Ray construction paper and orange/ blue/ white paint.
